According to the Daily Mirror, the 45-year-old met Amy - who was found dead in her Camden home last month, aged 27 - on the beach after she noticed he was in pain.

He explained that a hernia had been causing him to have 'the most terrible pain in [his] groin and it would go from the tip of [his] toes right up to [his] chest'.

She spoke to her bodyguard, who provided him with £4,000 and sent him to her doctor on the island.
'[The GP] said I had a hernia and sent me to the best hospital in St Lucia, called Tapion,' Mr Jean-Baptiste said.
'It's so expensive that only millionaires go there.'

'I had the surgery on July 1st 2009 - three days after I told Amy about my problem. It cost a fortune and Amy paid for the whole thing.'

Meanwhile, it was recently revealed the deceased star's home was robbed days after her death, with the thieves taking unreleased music and personal items.
